Why choose wallpapers with a non-woven backing and vinyl surface?
- Wallpapers that can handle it all. The strong non-woven backing ensures easy hanging and removal, while the vinyl surface adds outstanding resistance to scratches and moisture. - Tip before wallpapering: Walls must be smooth, dry and clean. Fill any cracks, apply primer, keep the temperature around 20 °C, avoid ventilation for at least 48 hours and always check the batch number (Batch No.).
A collection of non-woven wallpapers with a vinyl finish, The Marker was created by Design Studio Stefan Scholten, who has become one of the defining voices of world-renowned Dutch design over the past twenty years. The prestigious design magazine Wallpaper recently voted his work as "Best Design of the Year". Since 1995 he has been running his own design agency and since October 2021 he is the new creative director of the manufacturer BN Walls.
In this collection, he has created a world full of compositions and surprising designs. The wallpaper patterns are abstract and graphic and all have different textural and structural qualities. Paper, texture, color and pattern are perfectly balanced. The primary inspiration for this collection was the marker that Stefan Scholten often draws with. This is not only evident in the repeating striped patterns, but also in the way the colours blend into each other, which is characteristic of marker ink.
All designs were created from scratch. As with many other BN Walls collections, the combinations and possibilities are endless. The collection reflects a studio method of working, created in a design studio in Amsterdam. Colours, shapes and textures are combined in an intuitive way, all drawn by hand.
Non-woven wallpapers are characterized by a good breathability, mechanical resistance and the ability to cover fine cracks. Wall thicknesses equal to or less than 0.8% is suitable for non-woven wall coverings. When pasting the non-woven wallpapers, the adhesive is applied directly to the wall to which the individual stripes of the wallpaper are applied. For pasting, use a non-woven wallpaper adhesive Beeline for non-woven wallpapers, which can be found in our adhesive range. Removing non-woven wallpapers is easy and could be done in a dry condition of the wallpaper.
